INNOVATION: Era of Enlightenment [Jordan]

Jordan Lewis

In 2018, I was a participant of TGME Cohort 2 as the CEO of Kids Going Out (KGO), LLC. KGO’s mission was to build community amongst Chicago’s young population through recreation. Through Gray Matter, I was able to leverage my love for music, entrepreneurship, and people to further cultivate a community-oriented mind.

As a recent graduate of Trinity College (Posse), where I majored in Urban Studies with a minor in Architecture, I’ve thought critically as to what it truly takes to build an equitable and sustainable community. As someone who grew up in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago and has seen the highs and lows of the community, I used this as a focal point of study to find possible solutions to better accommodate the needs of the community as well as the needs around the world.

Currently, I am a young construction professional working in the greater Boston area as Project Engineer at one of New England’s premier construction firms. In training to become a construction project manager, I plan to use my career in project management to further fuel my passion for community building. Ultimately, I plan on using my knowledge in construction to create conscious and sustainable real estate wherever God leads me!

Through Gray Matter, I not only learned the essentials of entrepreneurship for my own endeavors but was also able to correlate many of the learned skills and apply them to my career path. All of this in an effort to create better communities for the future.
